On SmackDown, the 2024 WWE Draft got underway. The first round of selections set the stage for Monday’s action-packed night two.
Or not, if Friday night’s outcomes are any guide.
To put it mildly, there weren’t many real moves made during the opening night of action in this year’s draft. The majority of well-known names that were eligible on Friday night remained in the same spots, leaving some to wonder why there would even be a draft at all, aside from the obvious benefits to TV ratings.

This Friday night mainstay defeats Raw thanks to Hayes’ formal debut on the SmackDown brand.
