Chelsea’s penalty row Mauricio Pochettino can’t accept argument before Cole Palmer strike

    • Dive into the controversy surrounding Chelsea’s penalty row as Mauricio Pochettino voices his disapproval, just moments before Cole Palmer’s decisive strike, adding intensity to the Premier League narrative.

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, told his players not to do it again, saying he was “so upset” about the argument over who would take the penalty in their 6-0 victory over Everton.

After a disagreement between Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke about who would take a spot kick, Cole Palmer, a regular for Chelsea, scored his fourth goal.

Pochettino declared, “I can’t accept this kind of behaviour.”

“I told them it’s the last time I want to see this kind of behaviour.”

“It is not possible to behave in this manner following this performance,” he continued. We must adapt and think as a team if we want to be a fantastic squad.”

Palmer, the Blues’ regular taker, won the penalty in the 64th minute; this was his ninth successful attempt of the year.

Palmer once again delivers “Amazing,” but can he truly take home the Golden Boot?
Following his argument with Jackson, Madueke originally grabbed the ball and refused to give it to Palmer. Conor Gallagher, the captain, took the ball from him and handed it to the England player. Jackson then attempted to grab the ball away from Palmer, forcing Palmer to push the attacker aside in order to put the ball on the spot.

All of the players are aware that Palmer is the official penalty taker, according to Pochettino’s post-game remarks.

Palmer is the penalty taker. Palmer must make the decision to pass the ball to a teammate. It has to be fixed. They now understand,” the Argentine remarked.

It’s unfortunate. For a young team that still has a lot to learn, it’s a process. To the fans, I sincerely apologize.

“They must become knowledgeable and competent. The group must be our main concern. It’s an obvious illustration of the process we still need to learn.”

Only former Manchester City player Yaya Toure has a greater 100% conversion rate (from 11 penalties) in the history of the tournament than Palmer, who has converted all nine of his penalties in the Premier League.

Palmer later attempted to downplay the incident.

The former Manchester City player stated, “Other players wanted to take it, but I am the penalty taker, and I wanted to take it.”

“I believe that everyone is demonstrating a will to accept responsibility. We are chuckling and making jokes about it, even though it seems a little excessive. Everyone wants to win.”

The Everton midfielder, Dele Alli, who is still recovering from a long-term injury, watched the match on Sky Sports and had a different perspective.

Palmer had already netted a penalty in the 100th minute of a 4-3 victory over Manchester United earlier this month, so this was his second consecutive home hat-trick.

They’re displaying their age with this. Although I don’t regularly visit the training facility, I believe that during their most recent significant match, when the pressure was at its highest, none of them struggled to hold on,” he remarked.

“It’s alright when it’s 4-0 and you all want to get on the scoresheet.”
