McTominay says injury ‘nothing serious’
- Stay updated on soccer news: McTominay reassures fans that his injury is “nothing serious.
Scott McTominay, a midfielder for Manchester United and Scotland, said his injury was “nothing serious” and that he hoped to return “soon”.
After only 26 minutes of action as a second-half substitute in United’s 1-1 draw with Burnley on Saturday, the 27-year-old exited the pitch in agony.
On Monday, he did, however, imply on social media that he would return sooner than he had anticipated.
With seven goals in Euro 2024 qualifying, McTominay led Scotland in scoring and is predicted to be included in Steve Clarke’s team for the championship.
McTominay posted on Instagram, “I slipped and fell awkwardly on my knee, similar to against Chelsea.”
“It was just hyperextension; nothing dangerous, but I was frustrated and outraged that I mistook it for something more.
“Hoping to be back on the pitch very soon to help the team as much as I can.”
