Udinese vs. Roma match abandoned after Evan Ndicka collapses
The Udinese vs. Roma match comes to a halt as Evan Ndicka collapses, prompting the abandonment of the game. Follow for updates on Ndicka’s condition and the implications for both teams in Serie A.
Evan Ndicka, a defender for Roma, is in “good spirits” in the hospital following his collapse on Sunday during his team’s Serie A encounter at Udinese.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast player went down in the 72nd minute of the Serie A match and was taken out on a stretcher.
With the score at 1-1, he seemed to be cognizant as he exited the field.
Sharing a picture of him in the hospital, Roma wrote that he “feels better” and that his teammates had paid him a visit.
It further stated, “He will remain under observation for tests in the hospital.”
Following Ndicka’s collapse, the referee conferred with Roma’s medical team and emergency personnel, and the game was subsequently canceled.
Ndicka left Eintracht Frankfurt for Roma in 2023 on a free transfer, and he has since made 19 appearances for the Italian team.
Udinese took an early lead thanks to Roberto Pereyra, but Romelu Lukaku, a striker for Roma, equalized.
The rest of the game will now take place at a later time.
