In the storied Derby della Madonnina, Inter Milan defeated their bitter rivals and closest rivals, AC Milan, to win their 20th Italian championship.

Inter took the lead when Francesco Acerbi was unmarked to head home a flick-on from Benjamin Pavard from a corner.
At the San Siro, Marcus Thuram grabbed a long ball and had too much time to cut it in before smashing their second goal into the bottom corner.
Milan had a small moment of optimism when Fikayo Tomori of England headed in from close range.
As tempers flared during injury time, three players were sent off. The hosts ended with nine men as captain Davide Calabria was sent out for violent behavior. Theo Hernandez of Milan and Denzel Dumfries of Inter were sent off for their respective roles in a brawl.
Even though Milan was the home team for this match, Inter players and coaches rushed onto the field to celebrate when the final whistle blew.
With five games remaining, the Rossoneri in second place are now 17 points behind Inter.
With Mike Maignan tipping over Hakan Calhanoglu’s drive and Lautaro Martinez missing a sitter, Inter could have won by a larger margin.
In the 116-year history of the Milan derby, this was the first time the Serie A championship has ever been won.
“We deserve this joy because we worked so hard,” captain Martinez, who has scored 25 goals this season in all competitions, said. “I feel like crying.”
“It’s been wonderful, but we have to keep going because we’ve already won a lot of trophies, and we want to win many more.”
