Rory McIlroy says it is “complimenting” that Tiger Woods is backing him to total a career-high Amazing Pummel by winning the Aces.
The Northern Irishman won the US Open, the Open, and two US PGA Championship titles between 2011 and 2014, but his triumph at Augusta National has demonstrated slippery terrain.

“No, address, he’ll do it at a few points,” Woods said.
“Rory’s as skilled, as he is great. He’s going to be playing on this occasion for an awfully long time. He’ll get it done. It’s just a matter of when. I think that Rory will be an extraordinary Aces winner one day, and it can be this week.
“The ability that he has, the way he plays diversion, the golf course fits his eye, it’s just a matter of time.”
In answer, McIlroy said:
“It’s decent to listen, in my conclusion, the finest player ever to play the diversion says something like that.
“Is that so cruel that it’s aiming to happen? Clearly not. But he’s been around the diversion long enough to know that I at least have the potential to do it. It’s not as if I haven’t been a lovely, great player for the past couple of decades.”

McIlroy has not won a major championship since collecting his two US PGA Championship titles at Valhalla, nearly a decade prior.
