- After two exciting weeks of Spring Breakin’, NXT went back to its usual Tuesday schedule, but it continued to promise exciting moments leading up to Battleground.
Roxanne Perez talked herself into her third NXT Women’s Championship defense against Chelsea Green after becoming even more irritated with NXT general manager Ava.
Trick Williams, having received a dire warning from Lash Legend over his destiny, would meet Meta-Four on Noam Dar’s “Supernova Sessions” in an attempt to get answers.
It would be Wes Lee against Josh Briggs in his comeback game. Both guys wanted the chance to battle Oba Femi for the title of North American Champion.
The most outstanding athletes from the NXT women’s competition would advance to the ladder match, where the first-ever Women’s North American champion will be crowned.
A few of them women would also be competing against experienced talent, which included emerging NXT stars. Shayna Baszler was put to the test by Karmen Petrovic, and Arianna Grace put herself to the test by Michin.
The main titles of the gold brand were highlighted in this program, which also served as a prelude to the next major NXT matchups.
It seemed like Wes Lee would never lose his first game back. Josh Briggs put his opponent to the test, but the former North American champion persisted and prevailed with a diving corkscrew senton.
Lee, one of the most underappreciated talents on NXT, is back and doing a fantastic job right away. He increased the tempo of the fight while selling Briggs’s physical assault on his back.
He appeared to be in perfect health and full of motivation. He is going to be Oba Femi’s ideal opponent at Battleground.
Briggs has established his own mark in NXT and will get more opportunities to contend for gold sooner rather than later, even though this does put him back in line. There’s a growing rivalry between him and Ivar that might propel him forward.
