On the third day of the Track Nations Cup in Canada, Katie Archibald of Great Britain won the omnium, earning her third gold medal of the competition.
The 30-year-old Archibald earned a maximum of 120 points by winning the scratch, pace, and elimination races. He then added 11 more points in the points race.
Letizia Paternoster of Italy finished in second place, trailing the three-time Olympic medalist by 20 points.
On Friday and Saturday, Archibald won gold in both the Madison and team pursuit events.
After finishing eighth in Madison with Belgian teammates Lindsay de Vylder and Robbe Ghys winning gold, there was no more British success.
In the men’s sprint, Harrie Lavreysen of the Netherlands triumphed, while Joseph Trueman and Hamish Turnbull of Britain were eliminated in the 1/8 finals.
There was no British interest in the women’s keirin, which was won by Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand.
The track cyclists from Great Britain had one last chance to compete on the boards before the Olympics in Paris this summer at the Milton event, which was the third and final round of the 2024 Track Nations Cup.
