Becky Lynch Wins WWE Women’s World Title: :Rhea Ripley Vacated Last Week on Raw
- Becky Lynch secures the WWE Women’s World Title in an electrifying match, following Rhea Ripley’s vacated title last week on Raw. Dive into the latest developments in the world of WWE
Following the retirement of longtime champion Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, the WWE Women’s World Champion, has taken the championship. She triumphed in a Battle Royal on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Lynch has won seven world championships in the WWE.
In the last three of Monday’s 15-woman Battle Royal, Lynch prevailed over Nia Jax and Liv Morgan. Despite being put through a table earlier in the match, she overcame it to win.
After suffering a shoulder injury earlier this month, Ripley was forced to give up the championship belt last week, so it was up for grabs. After defeating Lynch at WrestleMania 40, Ripley successfully defended the championship against Charlotte Flair, which she had won from her at WrestleMania 39 the previous year. Ripley held the title for 380 days.
Since Ripley was one of the most popular performers in the WWE during her title stint, Lynch will have a difficult act to follow. Alongside Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, she created a stir as the face of The Judgment Day. In addition, she outclassed her opponents in her title defenses.
Since WrestleMania 40, WWE has made it apparent that, with Paul “Triple H” Leveque as new creative director, the company is entering a new era. Even though the corporation is moving in a different direction, Lynch’s return to the top is more of the same; nonetheless, during her latest reign, the seasoned leader should be able to assist in developing new stars.
